“ Authentic, affordable, timely. If in the mood for Mexican cuisine this is the place to go. No thrills or cheap gimmicks, just solid food. We were lucky enough to meet the owners who shared their story with us. They deserve all the business they get. 10/10 would recommend/ repeat. ”
“ We ordered takeout when we arrived in Taos and it was amazing! I love trying tacos at every place I visit and the barbacoa tacos were super tasty! My husband ate the bean/cheese burrito and gave it a big thumbs up. We also tried the pork tamales and they were lit! Great place to get lots of amazing Mexican food! ”
“ It's amazing how many different styles of Mexican food exist. This place serves up dishes that are known at most Mexican restaurants, but the flavor profiles were elevated, with some unique combinations as well. The enchiladas and tacos were top notch. ”
“ Lovely people who work there. We were there for a quick lunch. Food was amazing! Highly recommend if you’re visiting Taos! ”
“ Great local food and wonderful service. I recommend the pork tamales with green sauce and rolled tacos. Throw in a bottled Coke and some homemade chips and salsa and you’ve got yourself a good meal. The service was amazing and friendly too. ”
“ Nice family owned and operated place. A bit too big from recent expansion losing intimacy. Son of owner was on point. Watched a bit of sunrise. Just 5 minute walk to historic and charming Taos plaza ”
“ Update: We've visited 3 times over the past year, including after their expansion and can confirm Sabor Real is as good as ever. Today my 5-year-old son said, "I would give them a million stars!" Great food, extremely friendly staff, and very kid-friendly. We can highly recommend for any families looking for an excellent local food experience. Great addition to Taos with delicious, affordable New Mexican food, and with very friendly staff. We had tamales, Chile Rellenos, chopped steak with green chile, Frito Pie, and a cheeseburger - all were fresh, and full of flavor. Nothing was too spicy - for that, try their red and green homemade hot sauces, served on the table with your meal. So good we went home with big takeaway cups of both of them! Looking forward to coming back and trying more things from the menu. ”
“ We came for breakfast but forgot to take photos of our plates. Husband ordered the ham and cheese omelette with wheat toast and I ordered two eggs over easy with ham and flour tortillas. Both plates also included a small side of hash browns and refried beans, and we enjoyed everything. The service was very friendly and efficient. The desserts looked delicious! Next time we will try lunch or dinner and dessert. ”
